Art in my old home town

I’ve recently been sorting through my art files on my Mac computer and decided to update some pieces online. This led me to a fond memory: a photo from my solo art show in Ramat Aviv, near Tel Aviv University, 20 years ago. The exhibit featured my “5th Dimensional artwork, a series and new art form what I developed in 1991. This individual expression and concept originated while I was a student at the Energy Art School in Berkeley, under the direction of Ross Drago, who synthesized various modalities into this unique approach.

It’s a personal and dear reminder of the times when Israel was a more peaceful country, and life was more normal, staying with my dearest Mother Professor G. Stendig-Lindberg in her loved neighborhood. Here she would walk to her work in Tel Aviv University, Sackler building where she did her Magnesium research. I am so deeply thankful for all that my Mother gave me and her faith in me, especially appreciating my Art. You are also welcome to visit my Mother’s website to learn of her extensive amount of work in medicine and her research articles, as well as beautiful poetry.

Today Ramat Aviv is a bit different, the Tel Aviv municipality is changing its landscape, by installing a new light train and replacing noisy buses, designing a kind of Rothschild style avenue for pedestrians to enjoy walking to campus, etc. In the courtyard setting of Kenyon Ramat Aviv, on Einstein street, my art work was displayed and I may consider doing one more Art show there… revisiting the past into the future.

Meanwhile, now a days I keep focusing on my Flame Art work, which I exhibited in 2023 in Tel Aviv at the Habama Center. That autumn was an intense experience as just few days after my Art Opening, the 7th of October war in 2023 began. We drove numerous times to Tel Aviv, being under rocket attacks, and once having to get out of the car and lie down on the freeway, face down, for protection. Still with all the intensity, I invited the public to special healing circles and peace meditation, considering the fear generated by the war and wanted my Art and Healing work provide some support.

One time, I started a Meditation circle by ringing the chime, and just as the mini gavel hit the chime, a siren broke out and all the 80 people who partook ran to the bomb shelter. This ‘Flame Art’ show was unlike any of my previous exhibitions, and perhaps the element of fire and war, became the background setting?

Blessings and Love, Eva Ariela
