On this very beautiful day, we in the Jewish tradition celebrate the very birthday of the Trees. We plant trees and bless their fruits, as we don’t take for granted that we can enjoy G-d’s gifts in our lives.
I work for Peace and hosting numerous events. One of them was the Birkat HaChama Festival or the “Sun Blessing Festival” … another joyous day of celebration, The Birthday of the Sun! It happens every 28 years according to the bible counting of the position of the planets at their moment of creation . In 2009, during Passover, we planned a whole week of events in the most Kabbalistic city Safed in the Northern Galilee in Israel. One of the main ceremonies of that week was to plant 12 Trees, representing the 12 Biblical Trees of Israel. It was done on the citadel of Safed, after reciting the blessing in Hebrew that is said every 28 years during dawn. The next birthday will be 2037!
Over the years we continued to plant trees via my Mother and Sisters memorial foundation, the Lindberg Peace Foundation. Below here you can enjoy seeing a few locations, in where we involved a whole school planting Trees together.
May we all enjoy the fruits of life, and appreciate the gifts of the Trees, hold them, hug them and each other. Many blessings and love, Eva Ariela
